Lea Michele is throwing herself into her work as she deals with the tragic loss of her boyfriend Cory Monteith.
The 27-year-old actress was holding up strong as she filmed scenes for Glee's fifth season in New York City on Monday.
Lea, who has been coping with the death of her co-star and boyfriend only two months ago, brightened up in a berry wrap-around trench coat.
Work proved to be the soothing
balm to that wound as Lea was spotted, chin up, strolling in front of
the St James Theatre, which was revamped into the venue for Funny Girl.
'#GleeinNYC #FunnyGirl #Broadway,' Lea tweeted that morning, along with a photo of herself standing beneath the Broadway show's marquee.
Last season on Glee ended with Lea's character Rachel Berry vying for the lead role of Fanny Brice in the musical revival, and viewers will get to see if she lands the part when the series returns on September 26.
Lea spent the rest of the time
with her hands in the pockets of her cheery fuchsia coat and stepping
lightly down the pavement in her black-tipped, artsy-patterned heels.
The actress' brown hair was effortlessly styled into a high ponytail with long bangs trailing over her eyes.
One thing is for sure, Lea is relieved to be back at work on the set of the Fox musical dramedy.
Shooting resumed last week with Lea taking to her Twitter account on Tuesday to share: 'Back at work:) Lots of dancing happening on set today w/ @NayaRivera!
#GleeSeason5 #Beatles.'
Lea was seen strolling around New York on Saturday while wearing a 'Cory' necklace and looking casual in denim jacket, white T-shirt and grey track trousers, the first time she was spotted in the Big Apple since Cory died.
The 31-year-old actor was found dead in his Vancouver, Canada hotel room of an apparent drug overdose.
Cory
had struggled with substance abuse problems and been to rehab twice to
treat his addiction, the first time occurring a decade ago.
Lea stood by her guy when the young star checked himself into a treatment facility in late March of this year.
'I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this,' Michele said in a statement to People magazine. 'I am grateful and proud he made this decision.'
